Ground Pounder Updates for 02-03-2009

Whew! The holiday’s are done and the new year is already a month old. But don’t fret! Although the new year has been off to a slow start for me, I do have some updates that should makes some folks pleased.

I’ve commissioned the next sculpt, the Ravager Alpha, with Clint Staples. Clint is the same sculptor who brought to life the Ravager Stalker. Clint has also completed and delivered three types of Ravager grenades that will be cast up with the rest of the weapons for a weapons pack as well as for my sculptors. Speaking of weapons, the CAD sculpts I have up to this point have been sent off to the rapid prototype machine and I expect to have the bronze investment castings within the next week or two and then the weapons will be sent off to the mold maker to have a master mold made. I’m also looking to commissioning the next Free Striker sculpt as well in the next week or so.

Art wise I have some new concepts being worked on right now to round out the Free Strikers, which includes a semi-intelligent robot with neurally linked handler and heavy weapons character. The artist is also working on a few weapon designs to round out the weapons offering for the Ravagers.

Rules have been slowly coming along and we have been slowly gearing up the playtest team as well. I’m hoping now that I will have more time now that I have gotten some other things rolling again with artists and sculptors to work on the rules.

I’m optimistic that I will have some figures and a weapons pack ready for sale in May, which will be released at KublaCon and then available for online purchase shortly after the show. That has been somewhat helped by the fact that I’m getting a nice little stimulus packaged from the U.S. government in the form of a fat tax rebate.

Cheers,
Jason
